Features that will attract more people to nexuiz

Let's discuss ways we can get more people on the nexuiz train.

I think mabie we should have tricks (like walljumps) and mabie a story mode. The story mode would be really tough, but I think it would attract people.

well, actually I'm really fine with the physics. they are just great. What always annoyed me is the way you get stuck with corners and stuff. This doesnt suite very well to a fast paced game and makes me argh! several times each 1on1 match.

if I understand your problem right, it has to do with the maps - and you are right, some maps do need some work, although I can't think of a map with this problem right now. IIRC there are some annoying parts near the MG on basement which should be evened out a bit.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Umm no. I thing thats a general problem. You get stuck too easy on edges in general. This sucks especially on maps with narrow gangways. Slimepit for example. I think a little more slippy feeling would allow a much more fluent way of moving.

Speaking about maps and stuff that blocks movement : on the ground! I hate when I try to strafejump across a map, but somehow I "trip" in the ground on some detailed stuff.

I hate the Nex.

It's impossible for me to find a server with a ping less than 100, and if I want to actually play against another human, I have to play on a European server that will ping around 200-300.

It basically ruins the game for me.

better performance (either optimising the engine even more, or replacing content such as player models or maps .. I mean ... I can play Warsow without any framedrops (even with many enemies on my screen, and in Nexuiz I (sometimes) get framedrops already in 1on1s due to bad map performance), as well as the net code which needs to be improved further

As already mentioned, there are too many details that block the movement in the maps ... this should be improved.

Introduce CSQC and all its benefits

I know what you are talking about. And I have good news :P LH did some heavy work on collision and I don't get stuck anymore... maybe in rare cases. But I am not sure when Nexuiz will use that change. I think div0 was against it because it can break prediction if client and server don't match.

We all know. You already posted that several times. Why do you hate it? What can be done about the Nex in your opinion?

You're talking about a lack of US players and secondarily, decent servers near Arizona. This is the main reason why we talk about "Features that will attract more people to nexuiz". "more people" mainly in sense of US players. In europe we dont have problems to find populated and fast servers in general.

You won't help anybody if you go on and go on and go on repeating your posts why Nexuiz sucks for you, sorry. It would be really nice if you'd post some suggestions and ideas how to attract more players.
