Tournament?

i was wondering yesterday evening about nexuiz tournament ... there is no ladder in clan base. Id like to ask a question ... whats the best way to challenge nezuiz players? make a small tournament. really not a big thing. just make w sigh up on forum (this topic?). because of the fact that im a noob, ive got many questions. first of all ... what do u think about this idea? how would we solve ping problems? (accualy i can see that people has low ping online - propably mots of servers are private servers, is that right?)

For big tournaments, I can't help you, but there's an online Nexuiz 1on1 and 2on2 and hopefully there will be a CTF ladder too. Look down on this forum on the main page

hmmm its a great game i mean it ... i was playing tactical ops for 3 years. Because of no support of anty cheat protect for linux i was forces to look for new game. ET imho sux, mod for ET - Elite is to slow ... Nexuiz is great for now . There are not many servers, but i hope that there is good comunity :]

Well Nexuiz has the best community i know off.. everyone (well with possibly two exceptions) is helpful and nice.

There once was a try to get a clanbase ladder running but at that time Nexuiz did not have enough supporters so clanbase did not want to do that. By now we have our own ladder.

And regarding that other stuff with the servers. Most of the servers are put online by people not directly affiliated with Nexuiz. And even though we have less servers then other free games we can conquer quite a few of them when it comes to player numbers.

What ping problems do you have? If you use a server close to you it should be fine.

yes I know that playing on the nearest server to me will be fine ... but what about a man Id like to play with - nvm i need to read rules of the ladder first :]

PS. Now my the biggest problem is FPS. My cfg:
~Barton 3200+
1GB DDR ~470Mhx
Radeon 9800Pro 128MB
Abit and so on
OS. Linux SUSE 10.2 - newest ATI driver

Has anyone similar crap cfg to me? ;] If someone has ... Id like to ask "have U got any problems with playing with >5 players on the server. Im playing witn no details, 800x600x16 and sometimes I have 25FPS when more than 4 guys show up.

Sometimes I have more than 60FPS, but my game jumps ... is it because of game engine, or maybe server? Or maybe because of my cfg or ATI drivers. Has anyone this problem?

ATI + Linux = bad FPS, whatever you'll do. Simply VERY BAD graphic drivers by ATI. Nothing you can do about this. To play Nexuiz under Linux aou might try to get an NVidia card .

About the jumpyness: Nexuiz can become jumpy (even when NOT having frame drops) due to lags or mispredictions.
