I'm new here too. Third day, or so. Completely awesome game.

I used to play Marathon back in the day, and just recently acquired an X800 for my G5 (from the stock 5200FX). I was seriously considering buying Doom III, but just can't bring myself to drop $50 on a game just for the graphics. I probably will, but not till I finish school (permastudent here).

Anyway, this game is great ... the visuals, the completely over-the-top action and the very active community.

I've been seriously missing the days of late night Marathon sessions when I worked at a newspaper ... and though AlephOne brings this to modern machines, it requires open ports and stuff like that ... I don't have time to monitor my machine, so Nexuiz network games are better for me.

Besides, though I'll always be a Marathon guy, Nexuiz smokes AlephOne in terms of visuals and sheer frenettitude of gameplay.

Thanks Nexuiz developers, whoever you are.

P.S. Another game I've been looking at recently are the Cube games. Pretty kooky, and the Sauerbraten game looks REALLY good, but I have yet to find a deathmatch with those. What is up with that?
