Help Please

Hi, I just dl nexuiz, it is a super great game I love it!. But could someone tell me, if it is possible to fix the key`s. I mean starf left = left arrow, and so on, but me I alway`s play whit turn left = left arrow, turn right = right arrow. And if somebody kno`s, could you tell me what to wright, and where. Thank`s in advance

Yes you can, the easiest way would be to open the file Nexuiz/data/config.cfg and change the lines from:
bind "leftarrow" "+moveleft"
bind "rightarrow" "+moveright"
to:
bind "leftarrow" "+left"
bind "rightarrow" "+right"

OR you can open the ingame console with shift-escape and enter the last two lines there.
But on the other hand you really really should try to get used to the strafing and using the mouse as you will have a f*cking hard time to aim elsewise

well, I'd try to get used to strafing if I were you, it's defiantly a skill that is needed in an arena style game.

Am I correct in understanding that you're playing Nexuiz like Doom or Duke3D? Because...well it wasn't ever meant to be played that way, and you won't have any chance against anyone using the mouse and strafe keys if you do try.

esteel, thank`s a million it is working just fine. For starfing I have tried it, and tried it again and again. I simply can't aim right, I have trouble turning to see whou is shooting me in the back, and so on. God bless you

One problem with mouse turning may be that you need it very fast to be able to turn quick nuff, bu that is to quick to aim good.

Heres something i started testing lately:

alias +sens "set sensitivity 8"
alias -sens "set sensitivity 18"
bind CTRL +sens


The above decreases sensitivity while control is being held down. Replace 18 with your normal sensitivity setting and 8 wit something you that suites you. You could also reverse it to use higher then normal (faster movement) by swapping the numbers.

Thank's tZork, I will try it, but since I have started playing games on PC, in 1994 (ya I'm old) I have alway's play whit those seting, right arrow = turn right, and so on. But I will try it, to see how I play whit those settings. Thank's again God bless you

Ho boy! 23 is very young. I'm 56 years old. I'm not working any more, so I play a lot.
I have almost every single games, you kno the big games. I simply love it.


Here you have the best people, I really mean it. I never saw I site whit a lot of class like this one. People that are helping, and not making any stupid remark's.

Well maybe its just that the sensitivity you use is not optimal.. could be too slow or too fast. I always found its a good start to use a sensitivity that allows me to 'easily turn 180degree with one sweep of my mouse'.
But if you are really that used to turning with keys it might be hard to change that habit. Nevertheless, enjoy the game and have fun.
