DONT
1) shoot your team mates
2) BLOW PEOPLE OF THE EDGE
3) send team messages e.g health location weapon (for no reason)
4) STAND IN THE WAY
5) take all the weapons
6) LEAVE YOUR BASE WITH NO DEFENCE
7) LEAVE THE FLAG CARRIER ALONE (follow him and help)
CAPITALS= inportant

1 and 2 are the same thing.... as blowing your enemies off the edge is a valid strategy (especially on mentalspace)

3 is just silly as team messages are very useful for coordination attacks and helping your team (as you want people to do according to 6 and 7).

4, 5, 6, and sometimes 7 are all good general rules.

Btw, put a mini CTF guide on my site too (for those too lazy to read esteel's.

Team messages are fine. The problem is when someone spams irrelevant messages, like PeaceBrother adverts.

I guess he just gets pissed sometimes and therefore posted this...
Many of the newbies don't know even the basics, many need to think before they know if you're on their or on the other team, and therefore, blow you off the E's tower top in face for example, this happens way too often if you have the flag.

Take the flag, and newbies will think you're an enemy...
Then they nex you back the whole way from your tower to the enemie's -_-

but yea, about those team messages, IMHO, at least on public servers, they should be used more often. And the standard "attacking", "defending" binds aren't -that- helpful, I've made some binds for really coordinating attacks yesterday, and must say, even some noobs were able to reply with a simple "ready" and help attacking, it was great :)

If they work out I might release them - not that they're anything special, but I like it when people use the same binds. They're just "coord. atk on my mark", "... on your mark", a countdown, a "mark!" bind, a "ready", "wait, not ready, wait for -my- mark", and a "sry cannot participate" bind for when you're shot right before the attack :)

Those team binds are a nice idea but imo they are a bit overkill. http://forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?t=555 There i propose to use 'attacking' and wait a bit till someone responses with 'attacking' or one of the two 'positive' or 'negative' messages. But i can see that its more easy to grasp what those specific messages mean..
