I have a ATI Radeon 9200, and was wondering if I need to update any drivers for it.
Also Does anyone know where I can find the Quake games, and how much they cost? Thanks

I have no idea what drivers you have installed currently but installing uptodate drivers is always a good idea. All the quake games have playable demos that you can download in the internet ( www.planetquake.com is a good start ) or try to look for 'ultimate quake' thats a pack that contains the full versions of quake, quake2 and quake3. Thats a good thing to have :). think it costs around 30 euro. hmm amazon.com has it for 20$ http://www.amazon.com/PC-Ultimate-Quake ... 044&sr=8-1

Its still an ok computer if you do not want to play the top-notch games of today which will indeed be too demanding much for your computer.. Do not worry there are still enough slightly older games you can play fine. And quake, quake2 and quake3 will for sure run quite well, are good games and still being played today by a lot of people.

Yeah I think so. I run Nexuiz with everything off, and thats fine with me, I like the actual game play as opposed to making it look really pretty. Depending on the server, I usually get around 70fps, but sometimes it drops as low as 20, and other times it's as high as 120. It seems like some maps make it drop, usually bigger ones. I would really like to get the 'ultimate quake', series, but am unsure if it's compatible with mac. I looked at the link you gave me for Amazon, but it was unclear, maybe you know? I ordered a Razer Pro click V1.6 mouse, because the copperhead and some of the others are windows only. I think the Proclick V1.6 is the only one by Razer that is mac compatible. Mine is just too small and not precise. Also could you direct me to some more demos, maybe some of you in tournaments or something. I watched Kojak's from the last 1 on 1 tourney and they made me feel like I got punched in the stomach. Awesome

The engines are all open source. So as long as you have the game data, you can get mac executables elsewhere. In case of q1, you could use darkplaces (the same engine Nexuiz is using), for q3 there's ioquake3 and i'm shure you don't have to google much to find a q2 engine :)
*admin-edit* made the urls work..

Well all the demos i put online are here: http://esteel.planetnexuiz.de/nexuiz/demos/
They are all .pk3 files so just put them into the Nexuiz/data directory and you will find them in the demos menu. I made them into pk3 files to make them smaller (compressed) some other upload the 'raw' demos that are .dem files and should go into Nexuiz/data/demos to find them in the demos menu.

Yeah kojn is one of the very best Nexuiz players, he is ranked #1 in the 1on1 ladder and he is just a machine when it comes to games :)

And at least quake3 has an official mac engine too. Just download the latest 'point release' for quake3/ mac and install it.. should work fine then.

for some reason when I try to play your demos, and some of Kojn's older ones its all black. I can see the game being played, but I can't see the map?

I guess you do not have the map (loaded yet). There are quite a lot 'custom' maps, that is maps that do not come with Nexuiz but that were made by fans.. There is an automatic mapdownload in Nexuiz so that when you play on a server with such maps it will download that map. However it will download that map into Nexuiz/data/dlcache and only use that map till you quite Nexuiz again. When you start it again that map is not loaded.. until you go onto a server with that map.. Nexuiz will notice you already have that map and just use it intead of download it again. Thats for security reasons so a bad server can't make you download 'bad' stuff that still works when you restart Nexuiz.

Basically thats the problem.. Nexuiz has not yet loaded those maps but you try to play the demo. However i'm not aware of any 'bad' stuff so you can simply move all the *.pk3 from Nexuiz/data/dlcache to Nexuiz/data so it will load those maps on start and you will be able to watch the demos.
The other reason might be that you just do not have the map at all.. see here for a huge list of maps: http://141.2.16.3:7780/nex/maps/
