Two little sequences :
- http://perso.orange.fr/ronan13/nex/capt ... 1remix.avi
3 keys carriers from the same team meet at the same place, unfortunately it was not mine...

- http://perso.orange.fr/ronan13/nex/capt ... recity.avi
I have captured the 2 others keys, in midair...

Original demos can be found here.

Well yeah it would be nice to know how many keys you have but at least you know how many teams there are and you can see the icons for the keys/carriers..

Hey, this is sorta on topic, since those are DivX encoded files.

I was playing around with the DivX embedded web player yesterday. As far as I know, there isn't a linux version of the DivX Web player. I was curious what happens when you view the following page using Linux (I'm at work at the moment so I can test it). Will it play with mplayer or something similar?

crap
:-(

I wonder if the DivX people are working on a Linux version of the web player *crosses fingers*. Just a few months ago, they released an update to the DivX codec for Linux.

Hmm, I'm gonna email them and ask.

divVerent and Xeno

(I just watched the video a few minutes ago)

Congratulations on creating a great video. This is EXACTLY what I was suggesting before with the video tutorial idea. Well, except I was considering the idea of using a voice-over, but I think your use of the overlaying text is a good idea (you started using overlaying text later on in the video).

The only criticism I'd give is that some of the tips are a little lacking in details...things like:

"good players know when to attack and when to run" or something like that. I can't remember exactly how it was written. That could be re-written to say something like

"Attack when ___________"
"Run when ___________"

and so on.

I am very excited to see this video though. I think it is a great start that will hopefully lead to other videos covering the basics of Nexuiz. That will help a lot of players.

Who cares about divx player? It would probably be just another non-free plugin that only works on 32bit systems and crashes firefox whenever it can ;)
There's an mplayer plugin that works quite well for ANY embedded video including streams like mms://... (it also enables you to save those :))):

Yes, but you can also just download it and watch it using standalone mplayer, or standalone VLC, or use Flash and watch the Youtube version... many choices.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Well, yes, voice over for a commentary would be nice... especially the long uncut capture video on minimanq3 could have used a commentary voice... but the video editing tool I used isn't really made for that (it's Windows Movie Maker, nothing professional), and my German accent is too strong for commenting a video in English.

BTW, a cool idea could be making the anti-video, with posed scenes of "characters" like:
  • Trevor the Turrent
  • Peter-Walther the Pickup Waster
  • Ben-Christopher the Bad Camper
  • Kamikaze Kenny
  • Charles-Paul the Confused Player
  • Frank the Furious Fragger
  • Steve Matthew the Suicidal Maniac
  • Dave the Dopey Defender
  • Oscar the Obstruction
  • Alex Stricker the Arrogant Showoff
  • Chong Hwang Ning the Clueless Homicidal Neanderthal
  • Mark Ronster the Marathon Runner
  • Barney Satuck the Bloodthirsty Snob
  • Olaf-Caesar Andersson the Obsessive-Compulsive Attacker
  • Siegfried Ox-Clampier the Semi-Oblivious Camper
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again
