Typewriter Ted, chatting all day and taking up a team player slot (so his team is effectively one player smaller)... should go into spectator mode to not take up a slot in a team.

3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again
You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I'd say that a couple of 'tutorial' demos regarding the basics such as movement and weapon firing should be distributed with the game. I'd help if that's any use
