Connecting to Nexuiz server through proxy

Postby Phyrexicaid » Wed Jun 06, 2007 8:55 am

Instead of actually studying at varsity, I'd like to connect to the local nexuiz server. Problem is that the university has an authentication proxy, how do I configure nexuiz to work with it?

Nope, it doesn't give me an option to.

I've tried running it from the command line with the (bash) http_proxy variable set, but no dice.

Nexuiz doesn't run through HTTP proxies, so - sorry. It uses a UDP based protocol...

there is software to tunnel UDP protocols over HTTP, but don't expect good performance from that... also it requires you running a server outside the restricted network.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Hehe...

to get a slight chance, check if your proxy supports SOCKS5... if it does, you may have a chance.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
