Running Nexuiz on a Macbook... Pasting into the console?

Postby Turner » Thu Jul 05, 2007 2:50 am

Command v is definitely not working, nor is ctrl v or alt v or anything like that. No way to right click in the console (ctrl click) or some way like that which I know of...

Anyone have any help?

:?:

(I apologize if this is in the wrong place?)

I don't think this is possible...

What do you need to put into the console?

you can allways just do it with launch parameters...

nexuiz +command [command params]

so I could do

nexuiz +set foo "bar"

Command is a key on apple keyboards.

Also, I don't think pasting into the console works.
If it's a long command, you could make an alias for it in autoexec.cfg

Control (or Command)-c/x/v comes from the Xerox PARC Alto workstation, somewhen around 1974-75. Get your computer history right tChr ;-)

It's shift-ins in the OSX terminal because the Control c/x/v sequences are already in use for other purposes on the command line.

Cool.. Did they steal that too (apple in this case).. Didn't know that. However shift-ins/ctrl-ins is from the old days as well, since ctrl-c has always (even in dos for you MS whores) been a break sequence (or rather request to terminate) iirc ctrl-ins and shit-ins was the standard in windows too, before word and excel was ported from the mac which used cmd-v and cmd-c. On the mac that makes sense, cause of the extra command key, but MS fucked up as usual by assigning ctrl to cmd, since ctrl-c was allready in use, even by their own systems, but that they blatantly ignored. as usual

what does that have to do with what I posted? I know command is a key on macs if that's what you mean :?

I said that because I figured he needed to enter a command that he couldn't remember...

I guess you can just put it into a config file and launch it from the console, then delete it afterward...

I appreciate all the replies.

I do not have an insert key on my macbook. Or I'm blind. I doubt the latter.
