This is my first map, so it wont be perfect.

your pk3 is not correct, you need to make a new one with :

last_life.bsp
last_life.map the (optional, file you have with radiant)
last_life.jpg

dm_last_life.mapcfg
dm_last_life.txt

ctf_last_life.mapcfg
ctf_last_life.txt

dm_last_life.mapcfg must contain for example:

Code: Select all
set fraglimit 30
set timelimit 20
changelevel last_life


ctf_last_life.mapcfg must contain for example:
Code: Select all
set g_ctf 1
set fraglimit 300
set timelimit 15
changelevel last_life



Else sky, walls, ground are all white.

You don't need to provide textures already included in data**.pk3. Don't use directly textures with a name ending by *_gloss *_bump *_stone etc.
Maybe add lights, with a skybox like sav-graysky1/sav-graysky1_skybox.
You need to add a trigger_hurt entity in order to die when we fall.

There are also some z-fighting, try to remove them.

ok, thanks for the help. i'll end up releasing v2. What programe do i need to make mapcfg files? What is a skybox?

Oh and i looked at those wall and i thought *frowns* i'm gonna need to fix them :(. Since you seem to be capable of making maps when i try to make a jump pad, trigger push, target push it doesn't come with a line to the peak of the jump like other maps have got.

mapcfg files are just plaintext files with a .mapcfg extension. Notepad is probably the most common thing to edit them with on Windows. Gedit/Kedit/nano/vi/vim/emacs if you're on Linux.

select first the trigger then the target and hit control+k
HOF:

It's been updated, it's half a space map and half a indoor map now. I have a two 1 strength lights, 2 skyboxes (no idea what they do), i fought those z's, renamed the textures, and added a hurt for when you fall.
