Of course they can't take away your copyright, but you would still have violated the license agreement - with all the effects *their* copyright on *their* software can spawn upon license violators.

When someone has to resort to "and I'm so much better than you because of this, and people from your country don't get that, blah fucking blah" as an argument, you can pretty much tell that they've run out of valid points.

I explained US law, div just accused me of lying and then brought up Nigeria. What else can I do? He doesn't accept my argument because I am talking about US law. US law is diffrent from canadian is diffrent from german is diffrent from mexican law. You cannot obey the laws of every country on earth as they are incompatable. Even laws within the same country can be incompatable with each other. AKA? What?

Sure... I actually think that you've made some valid points. Unlike some who use the false argumentative logic of condemning everything that you say or do simply because it's you, I try to consider each thing independently and evaluate each of them on its own merit.

That said, as soon as you start going off about how America is almighty and that it's the great protector of the world, saving Europe from the big Russian bear, etc, it sounds like a fat load of ignorant, blindly nationalistic shite, and it undermines your own valid arguments.

Brutail... sorry about feeding this subject, but this thread was already threadjacked... and this conversation is probably far more lively and interesting than all the "dude, nice map" comments that you would have seen.

And yeah, it is a cool map when you have enough players.

EDIT: I hadn't actually read Green Marine's comment before I posted this :P

I just can't defeat "you're lying" with logic though. If I'm a liar there is nothing I can say that will convice my opponent; he would have to study law to be convinced that I am not a liar. So I went onto talk about America :) [and Russia is rising again]. I don't know how to defeat "you are a liar". What can I say to that; 'No'?

I like the map as it's big and I love camping in the flag base on the [facing the flag] left ledge. The middle point of the map is where it's a little weak because it feels like a boxmap there. I suggest moving the skybox back far and adding roofs to the bases [but maybe playerclip them] do the same for the sidewalls/bunkers so it feels more like a place that exists somewhere. Also, a new skybox would be nice, even if it's just a color change/shift of the normal one.

For me it isn't.
Like I said I've hoped I'll get replies about the map, where does it need corrections, item placement suggestions, anything you players think it'll make the map play better. I'm not interested in any kind of legal bullshit, especially not about USA laws, as I live in Hungary, in Europe, and I don't give a bloody fuck about the laws and eulas on the other side of the ocean.
And btw it's needless to say, that this is not Mikee's first outrage on this forum (and won't be the last I'm 100% sure), and it's only a matter of time an admin doesn't ban him. Because he'll get banned on this account again, sooner or later, mark my words.
Don't feed the trolls.
And to remain ontopic: yes, I know the map lacks a new skybox, this is a very much overused one, but I'm not a texture artist, so I don't know how I'll replace it (in case I want to replace it). Maybe it'll only get some kind of a cloudy skybox, as seen in many quake3 maps.

I will think you speak of me, but I am no mikeusa. What outrage? It is an outrage to speak of law? Well if that is then what about your foul mouth? Fuck this fuck that etc. That is an outrage too.

The top floor of your map needs work as it doesn't have enough pickups or complexity. The middle needs work as it looks like a box map so add depth. Please fix these things.

Why is there so much anti-US sentement here? Should Americans dislike Europeans? We think of you as OK people but if you hate us then you are an enemy and maybe even worse then our current enemies due to your advanced technology. Yes I said it: if you dislike Americans then you Europeans are enemies and we will eventually end up in a war against you and it will be more viscious because we will fight more brutally against people that hate us on a socioligical level then those that oppose us because we invade them but not hate us on the societal level.

From now on I'll just simply ignore anything that's not related to the map layout itself.

Yeah, you're right, the quad damage passageway doesn't have enough detail, it's quite boring compared to the other parts of the map. As for adding items there, I'm not sure, what to add there. In nexuiz you can stick up health and armor, and with a quad damage this can be very dangerous.
The middle part? Are you talking about the lift room? Imho that's the most complex and well done part of the map :P

Maybe you could add some crates to the hallway to fill it up a bit, and maybe make the opening into the rocket launcher room easier to access quickly so that more people will use it.

Btw, going by what's been said in this thread about gpl legality, apparently the laws of Zimbabwe and North Korea should be highly interesting to you. :P

As much as I would enjoy to disagree with "that guy", if you're using an app to create artwork without paying for it, the company that created the app does not own that artwork unless it is specified. However if they find out you use it and didn't pay, they will sue you, but still won't own your artwork.

I've read about some big game company that got caught using 3dsmax and didn't have enough licenses for the number of people they had using. They had to pay a fine and buy more licenses. That's about it. Agree or disagree about it being right or wrong, but it's about not being caught.

Just think about it, how many inviduals (not companies) using Photoshop, even commercially, actually paid for it? Adobe would own a crazy amount of artwork.

C.Brutail, I'm downloading your map and promise I will comment about it.

Uh.
This thread went totally off-topic.
War is baaaaaaaad.
So the only solution is to escape into virtual realities.
And here we are ;)
Welcome back to Nexuiz and C.Brutail's map !

Some feedback:
The teleporters need something "teleporty" imo. They look boring like that.
Image

You can see through the wall up there.

The roof is also very thin. Try to make it thicker. The glass shader doesn't work for me, but that is caused by some broken pk3 in my \data folder.

Running around in the map is fun; some hallways are a bit long for my taste, but i'm not really into ctf, so maybe it works just fine this way. The hook will do it's job ;)
The blinking walls are a nice touch, i like them.
But i would really like to see some more impressive architecture in the middle of the map (see my suggestions in your beta2-thread).

And get this map finished asap 8)
