Those are great demos K0jak. I think I learned some good techniques by watching. Here is what I picked up.
Knowing a map well helps anticipate the opponent's movements. Where does that teleporter go? Is there a shortcut to catch up to a fleeing opponent?
Knowing where the health and armor powerups and how to get there fast helps in two ways. 1) You can get them for yourself and 2) You can anticipate that the opponent will go for them too.
You good examples of the best use of various weapons.
I see that you use the rocket for splash damage, firing where you anticipate your opponent to be. Since the rocket is slow, there are other weapons better for when you have the opponent in sight.
The mortar and electro are fast and have good splash damage. Both can also help cover your tracks as you go for more health or other item. The mortar also helps with big jumps.
The nex is good for a secondary hit to an opponent weakened and slowed with an explosive weapon. Also, it is good if the opponent is fleeing and there is time for just one shot.
I was surprised to see that you didn't use the shotgun or machine gun much. Some give high praise to these weapons. Of course, they both require multiple hits for a kill, so I guess it makes sense in a death match.
Please let me know if I'm misreading your strategy.
I been playing mostly CTF, so it was interesting to see an excellent 1 on 1 death match.
