this is about the Invisibility powerup in MinstaGib mode.

"Invisibility" means "not visible", meaning you can't see it. But the powerup doesn't do that. It just makes you somewhat transparent, some models more than others. So, what i ask for is that the "You are invisible" notification be changed (to "You are cloaked", for example), remove or replace it with a different powerup or set alpha to 0. Those who want to modify it so the player will only be invisible while moving are free to do so.

Invisibility is moot as long as the engine is open source

Invisibility's a good enough name, they're not literal. Should Strength be changed to "4x push, 3x damage" ?

Fixed.

For the same reason, darkness or fog can't be enforced. They can be used as visual effect, but not to restrict gameplay.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

question. darklplace has that anti wallhack code, that only sends information to the player about things he can see. Well, somebody that is invisible, can't be seen by the player. So, how exactly can you make him visible again on the client side if you don't have the information from the server where he is?

Oh... the anti-wallhack code does not prevent alpha 0 players from being sent... could add that or use EF_NODRAW on him. Complete invisibility would be possible, but not sure if it is a good idea - I'd rather change the name of "Invisibility".

I don't, however... in UT, invisibility isn't completely invisible either:

uh, i don't play UT. but that would be good enough. right now, alot of the models will just be translucent. i'm just a bit annoyed, because it was really invisible in previous versions and it was more fun to jump around like crazy, dodging the shots, never knowing where the next will come from, only estimating by the vapour trails and the thrill of hitting by "instinct". ;)

maybe someone has a nice idea for a new powerup. (like, change player model to a Nex gun)

It was never really invisible, but maybe we can do that too. I just think it's too much inviting people to camp.
