I miss 1.2.1 because it was the last version that really ran well on my pc.

Well what have you tried to make 2.4 run on your computer? I'm sure 2.4 can be faster if setup right. Basicly try to disable the 'Vertex Buffer Objects' and play around with 'OpenGL 2.0 Shaders' on/off..

I don't understand

I used the video effects Ultimate button and restarted the video with vid_restart.

gl_picmip was at 1. Should it be another value? Don't forget I'm using a fairly old ATI 9550 on Kubuntu.

The screen shot below is Ultimate and gl_picmip 0.
