Create games with custom maps

Postby jasonbourne » Mon May 19, 2008 2:28 am

Mac OS X 10.5.2
Nexuiz 2.4.2

How do I play the maps that have been downloaded from playing online?
None of them show up under the create game menu.

In Finder:
Go to -> Go to Folder...
Code: Select all
~/.nexuiz/data/dlcache
Now copy all these maps into your Nexuiz/data-folder under Applications. Maps should be visible now.

Or just move them to ~/.nexuiz/data.

What Harry suggested will make those maps available for ALL users on your computer IN THAT one nexuiz installation.
What i said will make them available for you alone but will also be available to you if there are several Nexuiz installations. Like when testing a hotfix or similar thing.

In case you wonder why its that complicated, its just a security measure. Files you download COULD contain malicious stuff and only files in Nexuiz/data or ~/.nexuiz/data is loaded at startup. So even if you download such bad files you will be save when you restart Nexuiz. But sofar all files served by server seem to be allright.

Ah okay. What I didn't realize is that it has to be directly in the data folder, not in any subfolders. Thanks for the info.
