Crylink should be majorly tweaked to sort out the ridiculous damage!?

Increasing its spread would not harm its "intended" use, but weaken it for "wide range" use. Maybe that should be done.

It still is far less effective than the Nex, though...
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Nex needs some skills. Crylink doesn't.

This is disturbingly true. I was playing moonstone and I killed the enemy flag carrier in one of the tunnels and I didnt even need to aim because of the spread and bounce. Normally I'd rocket launcher + nex the carrier right after he'd taken the flag.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

I can imagine the crylink in the hands of a bad player being more effective than any other weapon.

However, in the hands of a good player, the Nex, Mortar or maybe RL (I consider the RL weaker than the Mortar, actually, unless in airborne close combat, where the RL is unbeatable) certainly will dominate the crylink in the hand of a "noob".

But I don't think this is a bad thing... and you can still improve yourself using the crylink, by learning how to use the bounce damage right.

I was playing a 1on1 with FruitieX on a 2.4.1 SVN server before 2.4.2 and that gave us the chance to test out the crylink in a 1on1. Within 5 minutes FruitieX had found how to use it and said it was overpowered. From his score it was apparent he was right :P

I think it's great that the crylink has been made more useful. Because this is a true Nexuiz style weapon so should be used more than it was. I have used it too little to make a more interesting comment on how to change it but if dps is the problem just lower the damage it deals. I love the bounce :)

PS I will make a poll about what everybody thinks is The Weapon That Screams Nexuiz. I already know Nexgun is going to win but am interested in what will take 2nd place :]

just lower the damage to a sensible figure, and that's ALL that needs doing, no need to change much else, maybe tweak spread if people think it's that hard to dodge it or something, but the reason it's so overpowered is mainly cause of the damage you can inflict now.

and i laughed at the moonstone comment, says it all like dokujisan said :D

I love it, the moonstone one is a good reason to keep it as is imo. no other gun can go that, well maybe a lucky morar / electro secondary volly. i do think it should eat (mutch) more ammo tho, and perhaps a bit slower refire. plz dont turn it into a fancy ammo container again.
