Crylink should be majorly tweaked to sort out the ridiculous damage!?

i think you're oversimplifying the matter. We need to rebuild the Crylink from the ground up. New model, new settings.... primary fire would shoot fast volleys of laserbolts similar to the Uzi and secondary would release a strong blast at once, consuming a large amount of ammo. Then we just have to rename it to H.L.A.C. (Heavy Laser Assault Crylink)

Sorry, for my recent spam of dubious comments. This one will be the last of the series. :)

Add negative force, and Nexuiz would not only have another unique & usable weapon, but also another unique & usable primary+secondary combo.

Primary to draw enemies closer, current secondary with rapid range-damage fall off to deal damage.

the new crylink sucks^^
all beginners/newcomers/noobs xD spam the whole map with it

and its refire time is MUCH too fast
a refire time of 1,5 sec. wold be nice :o

or much better - get the old crylink back to Nexuiz!

I for one am glad to see that the crylink is finally a useful weapon choice, but I can understand people saying that it is too powerful now. I think the ricochet shot is great and needs to stay, just reduce the DPS some and increase the ammo usage.

For those that don't know. Like Qz said. Aim at the opponents feets or in front of the opponents feets. That will yield most damage.
Because when the bullets bounce they yields damage in a big radius and when the bullets hit the opponent they do even more damage.

According to my calculator, Crylink slightly beats the Hagar:

Hagar = 40 damage every 0.15s = 266.666666... dps
Crylink Primary = 20 damage, 4 shots every 0.4s = 200dps

BUT, the bounces have half the damage, so actually the crylink can reach 300dps.

But this ONLY holds for a VERY exact shot near the feet, where ALL pellets bounce, and fully hit by bounce damage AND directly! That is not possible, unless from very short distance.

And if only one pellet misses, we get a theoretical max of 200 * 3/4 = 150dps (225dps, bounces included) - this is already weaker than Hagar.

So if the crylink is now overpowered, so is the Hagar.

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

And just for reference:

Crylink Secondary = 20 damage * 7 shots = 280. Even in 2.3... and nobody found THAT overpowered :P

Yeah but no one used it in 2.3 because the primary fire was crap.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.
