Crylink should be majorly tweaked to sort out the ridiculous damage!?

I hate to take this thread off topic, I am very interested in this laser/rocket deflection.

Was it the laser bolt itself hitting the rocket, or the impact splash that caused the deflection?

I think the laser bolt itself hit the rocket. I was shooting parallel to the floor so it shouldn't have hit anything but the rocket. Gotta try this out sometime with two clients in a private game.

But it might be the deflection works even whith the splash push of the laser.

Judging by how many easy frags I scored with this I think they need to significantly lower the amount of damage the shots do as well as make them use more ammo.
I have left this website with the rest of the GPL Nexuiz community. You can find us at Xonotic.org

Damn, just fix it.

The game has significantly changed since the uber crylink came to be.
CTF is worthless for me these days :(

I almost want 2.3 back.

Play on my servers (the "Over the Lazy Dog" ones). These run with the crylink brought to "regular" power.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I agree with nifrek, the new crylink breaks some CTF maps (and not just dusty and greatwall).

Maybe pull the bounce damage down to 1.2x or so and perhaps lower the refire rate just a tad?

I wouldn't say it takes no skills though, no weapon takes no skills.

I just wanted to bump this thread and add a few other things, aside from the Crylink just ruining CTF maps as well as DM another thing is screwing up this game..SKINS!!

This stick man skin is hard to see sidways, and the one skin thats some woman in a dress is both blue and red..I have no clue what team they are on..
And THE WORST thing EVER is the Kart skin..
PLEASE go back to just the 2 skins on Galts CTF, and if possible the other Galt servers.
This Kart maybe fine in the race mod, but ffs its sucks in regular gameplay.
One of the problems i have found is that lots of players don't come to the forums, they have no clue whats going on with the development of the game, they just play..they are like sheep going to slaughter imo, they just take whatever is thrown at them regardless if the outcome is death or a ruined game and imho this game has gone to shit mostly because of the things i mentioned above, it's not even the same game anymore..its tuned into a clusterfuck.

I'm done ranting..for now :P

I disagree. The crylink does not have to be carefully aimed, especially when in a tight area.

I've got an idea though, how about moving the secondary fire for the crylink to primary, and the secondary fire will be a "sticky bomb". Sort of like the Magnusson Device from Half Life 2 EP 2, except in the form of crylink projectiles. You would spray the area, and the projectiles would stick to the surface until triggered, or they die.
