Weapon That Screams Nexuiz

What do you think is the Weapon That Screams Nexuiz ? The one weapon in the game that fits the style of Nexuiz best. I mean the combination of use, looks and what it can do to the opponent[s].

Yes, I know, nexgun is going to win and it should, probably. So consider the other weapons as well :]

[Wii-Wii]

- Laser : funny weapon, but I don't use it very often to kill...
- Shotgun : nothing to say, basic weapon, I never use it
- MG : one word : horrible. it's the worst campers weapon
- Mortar : very good weapon with the nex
- Hagar : not bad for close fight
- Electro : funny to shot the little blue balls ^^
- Crylink : 2 words : absolutely horrible. ARG!!
- Nex : symbol of the game. it needs some skills (and sometimes some luck ^^)
- RL : i love it for close fight, but not a very original weapon

It's not very original, but I vote for the nex
If I had to do a second choice, I'd say... mortar

I don't understand why the Nex should be the symbol of the game... the only reason that people see it as such is that it's named after it. Most games have a powerful sniper rifle equivalent, so the Nex doesn't define Nexuiz's unique style in the slightest. The laser makes the largest contribution to Nexuiz's playing style, but it's hardly a "weapon" so even that isn't voteworthy.

This is basically an American election... none of the candidates are representative. The "right" choice just isn't there.



Btw, I move to rename the Nex to the more generic "railgun" or something similar, or to give the other generic weapons proper names.

Its clearly the laser, like the blaster from quake 2 but you can actually do things with it like jump off buildings to your death.

UT has its translocator, we have our laser.

I tried imagining Nexuiz without one of the weapons and i just can't!

Laser
Epic fights on Evilspace, and it's the Nexuiz equivalent to a car in RealLife.

Shotgun
oh.... okay, wait. I forgot it. Yes, i forgot the Shotgun. I tend to do that alot. I can imagine Nexuiz without it.

Uzi/Machine Gun
A proper FPS needs some sort of Rapid Fire Weapon. But our Uzi fails miserably. I mean, you can't be serious! Let's see.... we have the Nex, Electro, Rocket launcher.... Uzi. Even the Laser is more powerful!

Mortar
i just love the clicker-clackering sound of grenade spamming

Electro

One of my favorite weapons, before they started tweaking it. I think it's the most-controversial weapon in Nexuiz and that's what gives this gun its character. If weapons had a gender, then this one would be a transvestite.

Nex
Hard-lined and straight-forward. A strong contrast to the other weapons.

Hagar
I think this one has benefitted the most from version changes. It didn't really change much, it just matured and developed a distinctive character.

Rocket Launcher
It's like a big fluffy teddybear, whose farts are deadly. Gotta love it.


I voted Electro, because it has one of the strongest characters along with the RL, but you see rockets all the time in movies and games, so the Electro has a more unique feeling to it. Talking about unique, Crylink would be my second choice.

I'm not agree. The most controversial weapon is teh Nex.

I personally love the hook. No other game i know of uses it as good as Nexuiz.
