Nexuiz - raytracing / multicore support?

Postby d2kx » Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:07 pm

Hi,

while I am enjoying Nexuiz on my older machine, I've got two questions:

- is Nexuiz capable of using multicore technology / does it use more than one core?

- as far as I know, raytracing is now avaible in ioquake3 (doesn't Nexuiz build on top of it?), would it be possible to add experimental RT support into the Nexuiz development builds?

Without a major rewrite, Nexuiz will not make substantial use of more than one core.

Nexuiz does NOT use ioq3. Nexuiz uses the Darkplaces engine which is (distantly) based on the quake 1 engine. However, Q3BSP is the preferred map format for Nezxuiz map.
