Tenshihan's NEW WEAPONS SOUNDS

Hi everyone, i'm not going to assume that you've all been to the Development forum, so I will post this here as well.

I'm a sound-engineer & sound-designer and have just released a new weapon-sound pack for NEXUIZ.

I've re-done the following weapon-sounds; crylink_fire, electro_bounce, electro_fire, grenade_fire, hagar_fire, hook_fire, lasergun_fire, laserimpact, nexfire, rocket_fire, rocket_impact, shotgun_fire, and uzi_fire.

TO INSTALL my soundpack, simply navigate to your NEXUIZ system folder and paste the "sound.pk3" in the 'data' folder.

Now load-up a game and use the mutator; "HOOK" so you can hear the new sound on that as well.

I hope you like my new sounds! :)

The link in your post is not working, but the one in signature is working.
I like the sounds in general. Nex gun is to powerful but as ai said in the other thread - maybe the model needs changing. Doc-Python made a nice Nex model that might be perfect.

The sound I really want you to change is the Mortar grenade bounce, it sounds too weak at the moment.

Well, I tried them. The sound of the hook is funny. The laser is cool, Nex sounds like you are on quad all the time. Shotgun sounds much better. RL sounds cool. Electro is cool too.

Very good job.

ah also. Electro sound seems ripped from the Q3 BFG weapon :P So maybe you want to tweak that one.

anyway i like : Shotgun, MG. Nothing more :P hook funny. Sometimes its hard to hear a difference duh , mortar i heard nothing speical :?

Actually real explosions can be described as sounding like the 'hand of God' clapping right beside your ear. Nothing scarier then being within 100 feet of a real high-charge explosion, especiially without ear protection. I've been around plenty.

Most of the explosions that gamers are used to hearing are purposely 'dulled-down' because of ANSI law prohibiting the possible ear-damage that can ensue. This is because they're playing the same sounds over and over again. That's ok, I guess I will release a typical game-explosion sound.

BTW guys, I fixed that dead link - thanks for the heads-up. ;)

I will be releasing a new soundpack link - probably tonight, maybe by tomorrow.
