Correct, it
should not be our (or more exactly, DP's) problem.
However, this "feature" hasn't changed for ten years now. And a game is supposed to "run" well.
As for WM keys not working in fullscreen... on X11, the fullscreen window is created using CWOverrideRedirect. So even if you COULD use WM key bindings, it would no change much because CWOverrideRedirect windows are never seen by the WM and cannot be overlapped by non-overriding windows. There are many other ways to go fullscreen, but CWOverrideRedirect is the only one which does not need specific window manager support. Most other methods need special features not every WM has... which is the cause why mplayer for example has lots of different ways of going fullscreen.
BTW, Alt-Tab is another key combination that might happen while playing... some people bind Alt. Not just Windows, but most *x WMs and OS X support it (okay, it's Command-Tab there, but basically the same).
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again
You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
