Is it possible to make an entire map in Blender then import it to Nexuiz ?, or does Nexuiz not support that ?.

the only reason I ask is becuase That is how Halo Maps are made (well they use 3DSMAX+conversion plugin). and because no matter how much I try to understand GTKRadient it just does not make any sense to me at all.

Sorry if this sounds basicly Idiotic but I have some Ideas for maps that would be cool for Nexuiz and since most game engine can render a static mesh quickly I figured I would ask here first to see if your/Id's engine could perform the same functions like other engines such as the ones used by Unreal, Halo, Pain Killer Ect.

It is possible to create maps in 3DS/Blender/whatever then export them as a set of MD3 models, then import them into GtkRadiant to build the caulkhull and hinting.

If you can understand Blender/3DS or any other 3D modeling application then GtkRadiant should be easy to understand, though a little knowledge of how the map build process works will go a long way in making sense of why Radiant works the way it does.

Also, optimising a modelmap can be rather difficault.

Try Bubba's tutorials for a good intro to Radiant: http://bubba.planetquake.gamespy.com/mapping.html

Thanks I will check the GTK radient tutorials at the link you listed, as for being able to understand it becuase I understand Blender is strange as the two are not even close to the same at all in my experince. anyways this will be my first map made entirely in mesh format, I figure I will take the Unreal approach low poly models with hi-res skins/textures.

Thanks for the response, will post back when I have a test map.

You can also watch the video tutorials for GTKRadiant if you do not like reading stuff. They bring up the basics, selection, navigation, creating things, texturing and more. The link is in my signature, but here you go anyway:
