I created the server.cfg file and added it to the data folder, there is also a sub-dir in there also caleld data, do I put it in there instead or not?

That warning is not critical, just ignore it :)
The screenshot looks like your server is up and running, just try to connect to it...

Try to connect manually: press shift+esc ingame and enter
Code: Select all
connect localhost
(assuming the client runs on the same machine as the server)

I guess your server doesn't appear in your server list, because you are behind a firewall/router. Make sure the ports 26000/UDP and 27950/UDP are open and forwarded.

I was away/busy the last few days so i'm not sure you still need help..
As KadaverJack said it seems that your server is running fine. You need to have set sv_public 1 so that your server will contact the master server and tell its there.. then it should appear in the server list. Also if the server is on your local network it should appear for you on that list never the less (nexuiz does search for servers running on port 26000 in the local network).
Have you been able to connect to your server by using connect IP?
Portforwarding should be ok but it seems some router mess this up.. a fellow games had big problems with his router.. Maybe you can tell us what any news?

Well I think its down to the port forwarding part, I've tryed adding it to the ports table but it doesnt want to work, you got any ideas why that might be? I get the unable to connect reply :(

Also looking through the stdout I get this
^7Server listening on address 0.0.0.0:26000
shouldnt it be 127.0.0.1?

Also looking at my dhcp table I dont have a mac address or host name could that also be the problem?

No, 0.0.0.0 is ok.. 127.0.0.1 would be only the loopback device/adress but your server should listen on all devices.
I never setup dhcp because i only have a very simple network with just a few computers, also with static ip adresses and stuff. But every network-card has a mac adress, if your dhcp table does not have them i guess your router does not use the mac adress to assign a internal ip to your computer but some other means. (Maybe first come, first serve/ip :)).
What did you enter into your portforward-tables? Guess something like from port 26000 (on your router) to port 26000/ip 192.168.1.1 (your local server) or something similar?
