The Pitch/Roll effect

I just started playing Nexuiz a few months ago, so I don't have experience with anything except 2.4.2. I was watching this video of what I presume to be an older version:

It looks like there used to be a pitch/roll effect when the character strafes. That seems to be gone in the current version. Any reason? I think it really adds realism to the movement.

The cvars are still available, I don't think I even noticed the difference myself.

setting them to 50+ = omg I want to puke

i totally love this effect, but it's "stuttering" when a high rollangle is specified. Increasing rollspeed makes it smoother, but it also decreases the angle. (probably affected by the players maxspeed)

any ideas how to improve this?
