Well. the release candidates definatly faster than the recent 1.5, but it seems some maps need to be optimized. esteel surely used his high.cfg where all eyecandies are activated and it runs 12 to 35fps on my GF 6600 AGP 128MB DDR2. My rig isn't the most decent one, for sure.

I made a movie (aka lots and lots of screenshots, 30 per second) to be able to pick the best screenshots and for this reason the fps count would have been something like 2fps.. and yeah i used my high.cfg that is also not really usable for playing, but it is possible to disable real time lights and then it will indeed be playable while still looking the same. Of cource the realtime lights and shadows are gone but thats a very very advanced feature..
I have added a low, med and high.cfg to the Nexuiz archives. Maybe it would be a good idea to rename the high.cfg to ultra.cfg or something and create a new high.cfg that will be playable :)

You are aware thet at 2 fps its useless to capture at 30, right? :D

The engine takes care of this as far as i understand it..

No, t's not useless. Darkplaces will render every frame when capturing a video, so it just takes ages, but the resulting video will have 30fps.

Of course it doesn't apply to gameplay :P
The only situations where this behaviour makes sense (and is used) are benchmarking and video capturing.
