Where can I download Nexuiz 2.4?

Postby eaglefan101 » Wed Feb 11, 2009 6:56 pm

Hey all! New here, so sorry if this is in the wrong forum!

I'm trying to fix the apparently well known invisible player/weapon problem right now. From what I gathered from a little searching, I need to download both 2.4 and 2.4.2, put them in separate folders, and replace the version 2.4.2 nexuiz.exe with the 2.4 nexuiz.exe (source: http://forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?t=3392). I've searched high and low and I just can't find where to download version 2.4

Does anyone have a download link for version 2.4? Or is there another fix for this problem?

This sounds like you misunderstood something..
2.4.2 is available as both a FULL download and a patch.. the patch can be used if you already have 2.4 .. but you seem to have 2.4.2 so there IS NO need to download 2.4 (again)

Could you tell us more about your system? That problem usually only happens on Linux with badly installed drivers.. Did that happen on older versions (if you already played older versions..) ? Are you using Nvidia or ATI? or an other card?

The reason why I want to download 2.4 is so I can fix the problem, as it seems that replacing the 2.4.2 .exe with the 2.4 .exe fixes the problem.

Here are my specs.

Windows XP
Intel Pentium M Processor 1.86GHz
1 GB RAM
Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS,910GML Express

Oh, and I've actually never played this before. I'm playing it for the first time. Or rather, I'm trying to.

Well if you really to try that, rather get the PATCH from 2.3 to 2.4 and use the nexuiz.exe from there.. thats a much smaller download and the .exe files are identical to the fulldownload for 2.4.

However the reason why 2.4.2 does not seem to work is most probably that your hardware or drivers does not like some of the new options in 2.4.2 .. well this release is quite some time now and a new release is currently in the works and will soon (in a few weeks) be released so i have a hard time remembering all the changes in 2.4.2. But a good try would be to disable the vertex buffer objects in the video menu..

Tried disabling the vertex buffers. Didn't work. I'll try the .exe trick and see how that goes.
