The reson why mappers shy away from terrain in nexuiz/darkplaces is most likely becuz the limited shader support. ie no textureblending. to make a terrain look good that would mean the mapper has to blend each texure used manualy into a new image and manualy apply it over the terrain surface. this kinda work takes ages and is error prone. untill darkplaces gets some way to do terrainblending or megatexturing i dont think anyone will take the time requierd to make any large scale terrain, even if the engine can push the polys needed.
i think C.Brutail short and mysterious "Not correct..." refers to some texures and models he did for noobmaps. or am i wrong here?

<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along
