I'll probably wait until 2.5.3 now, meanwhile you can enable these cvars in 2.5.2 which will be the major tweaks of recent DSN anyway: cl_playerdetailreduction -2 and r_showsurfaces 3. Only change apart from this will obviously be a smaller size, and possibly simple items as in the previous DSN release.
I'm planning on releasing a minimalist version which will be similar to previous DSN releases, but also a bigger version which still contains jpeg compressed textures.
In case you wonder why it's taking so long: I've been busy with other stuff, and am going to rewrite the messy script from scratch once I find motivation of doing so.
Weapon models still need bogging down somehow, they probably have a higher polycount than the low detail playermodels do.
