Use Yellow and Pink Teams in Team DeathMatch

Postby TheUbuntuGuy » Thu Apr 09, 2009 11:28 pm

Hi.
Is there a way to play with 4 teams instead of the usual red and blue? I know that there is an entry in the config.cfg file that is called <g_tdm_teams>, with the default value of 2. I have changed it to 3 or 4 but with no effect. I have also edited the same property in Nexuiz itself (I have version 2.5, in Settings>Misc.>Advanced).
Is there something that I am missing, or is the feature simply not available.

Thanks in advance.

Map can specify for how many teams they are suitable for.. You would need to adjust the .mapinfo file to allow more teams on some/most/all maps? I'm not sure if that info is required in the mapinfo file though

Would be nice to be able to define enemy/teammate models/colors clientside when brightskins/forcemodels are on.

Might be possible in the future.. to give the client real control over the models some larger code changes are required first. But then it would also open up a lot of cool possibilities for new and better models/animations.

So if i was to modify the .mapinfo file, how would i go about doing so. In the "tdm_<mapname>.mapinfo" file for any map, I don't see any values that would refer to this. What do you change/add?

Huh? you have that name wrong..
Its data/maps/bleach.mapinfo (for example) and the file does contain:
title Bleach
description A large multiple arena map
author Paul Evers
_diameter 5181.482910
_spawnpoints 14
has weapons
type dm 30 20
type tdm 50 20 2
type dom 200 20
type rune 200 20
type lms 9 20
type kh 1000 20 3
cdtrack 8

See that lightlight? thats the team number

Sounds cool. Would you be willing to provide some updates to that charilty? Maybe some pictures, some demos or screenshots? :)

the charity does not care. it is a school thing, where each class does an activity, and all the money raised is donated to a charity.
we have 28 networked computers in our room, so it is a great gaming environment.
i have been recording demos and taking screenshots to entice people to play.
i'm posting the screenshots on posters, and showing the demos on a projector for all to see...

although i will spread the word about nexuiz!!

That sounds great and the people dedicated to this project would love to see more about that I'm sure.
Now with new shiny avatar.
