Turning off bright skins?

Is this possible? I find the bright skins to be, well, amazingly ugly. I actually prefer the "dead" skin color when player is fragged, it's much less bright and annoying. Can this be disabled or toned down on the client?

No. Not without cheating. The setting is server side so that all players are playing under the same circumstances.
