#nexuiz.pickup updated!

To get more players into the nexuiz.pickup channel, I added some more games. All *.US games are removed, as they arent used in the last 3 weeks. If you want a channel for american games, too, we can set up an channel for that. We lack a bit in servers which we can use for the pickup games. Please contact me here or at IRC, if you like to help out with servers or have ideas about games we have to add

These games are available in pickup (all on european servers) now:

#nexuiz.pickup is made to find quickly some competive games in the nexuiz world.

If you like voicecommunication, you can use the Teamspeak or mumble server for teamgames. Connect to planetnexuiz.de, no login needed.

You see the gamenames in the topic. You can also see how many players are added. I.e.: CTF:3/6. 3 Players are added, 6 overall are needed to start the game.

Here is a small IRC-commandlist for the echbot. More informations are at http://www.echbot.com

!who --> If you wanna know who is allready added
!add gamename ---> (i.e. !add tdm) adds you to a game
!remove gamename ---> (i.e. !remove tdm) Removes you from a game
!remove ---> removes you from all games

You can add yourself to all games you wish in the topic. The echbot will automatically remove you from the gamelist when one game starts where you are added.

When a game starts, the echbot will query you and announce that in the channel. He will also tell you the IP on which server you are going to play.

Here is some help when you are on the server. Use these commands in the console (shift+esc) to vote the mod you wanna play:

vcall g_minstagib 1 ---> activate minstagib mode.
vcall g_minstagib 0 ---> deactivate minstagib mode.
vcall 1on1dm ---> changes mode to 1on1dm
vcall 2on2tdm ---> changes mode to 2on2tdm
vcall 3on3ctf ---> changes mode to 3on3ctf

NOTE: If you wanna play 2on2 minstagib, activate minstagib first and vote 2on2tdm afterwards.

lsmaps ---> shows a maplist for the voted mod
vmap mapname ---> (i.e.: vmap stormkeep) to vote a map

vcall sv_fbskin_green ---> activates green fullbrightskin
vcall g_shootfromeye 1 ---> shootfromeye

It wouldnt be a problem to add 5v5CTF. But I dont have a private server for that. Give me an IP and I do it, even I am not sure if we will right now be able to get that many people into one game

I am sometimes able to gather more than 6 people,
and we are llike,
"wow lets 4v4 !",
and then like
"bleh no servers".

I guess I should ask pn.de and delight admins to make 5v5 votable

Just play on some empty public server then. Currently there are at most 4 public European servers having at least 1 person playing. Rest 30 are empty.

About 5vs5 CTF: Atm the ladder servers are supposed to only use ladder configs that configure the size and mode of the game. At the moment there are only 1on1 DM, 2on2 TDM and 3on3 CTF.

What I'd offer is a simple guide and sample config files how ladder server admins can also allow 5on5 CTF on their server. However, I wouldn't "open" a new 5on5 CTF ladder on the ladder page (which would mean that I'd upload and maintain the corresponding config to the official place too). But well, I'll just create a new topic in the forums with a quick guide how ladder server admins can add 5on5CTF, and by this "allow" it to be used as well. IF there are people who want it, they can then nag the ladder server admins directly and point them to the topic I'll create.

PS: Not that the ladder was still being used or I wouldn't see that I have the power over ... nothing
