Thread topic says its all.

RL is virtually useless against someone with mortar + low ping (actually not always low ping, but this happens most of the time)

In fact it's not just that, it's possibly the most annoying thing in the world in nexuiz.

Crylink does this too, but that actually takes some skill and is a good defensive weapon.

Remove this stupid projectile detonation and make the RocketLauncher useful. Thank you.

I think it gives a good bit of tactics by knowing the weapons that you can counter a high damage weapon by using one with lower damage.

BUT! It can have the annoying situation where the rocket launcher becomes utterly useless.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

Don't know about grenades, but seeing two rockets collide in the middle of a fight is kinda cool. At least I never noticed it in 2.4, but now I see it happen from time to time, and in some way it makes me like the game even more.

I'd say no too, this is a nice feature and shouldn't be removed imo. Maybe cvar it instead so it can be disabled on server if anyone wants to.

Without this counter the RL would be too dominant. Thinking about certain maps where one can just spam and spam and spam and with no way being able to counter it.

Kojak, since you're the best with the mortar, remember why I named the player class that counters the Rocketeer after you?

While the GL functions as a counter to the RL, LordHavoc's idea to add guidance to the RL will partially alleviate this.

Not just partially. You can learn to move the RL missile in a path where it is above the floor so far that a grenade won't hit it, and move it down only to hit your target.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
