Why have a second opition? Never going to stop complaining about weapon X... well untill it's totally nerfed and player Y starts pwning me with weapon W.

Well... if you have one weapon that's way ahead of all others in the stats, you'd nerf it.

If you HAD one weapon which is way weaker than all others in the stats, you'd improve it (unless it's the shotgun :P)

The thing is, we always had the former case lately.

In the current stats, I'd perhaps have to increase damage of the camping rifle, but we all know the thing IS strong, and increasing it will sure make it TOO strong - it's just that it has very limited use.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

That totally depends on how well you can measure a weapons effect (and obviously on how wide your sample group is). Kills alone wont do it. Nor does deaths. AFAIK there's no system for pulling enough relevant stats out of nexuiz for anything else then a rough hint of what's going on in the weapon balance. Damage and dps is far from the whole deal, just look at the mortar.

I prefer more specialized weapons, with a punch. Rather then weapons that are very gradually better, at everything, and can all be somewhat effectively used in any / most situation/s.

The shotgun seems randomness when it likes to hit now many people noticed this, and machinegun as mentioned several times along the forum in the past 2 months is nearly useless.

Can't you just revert them back to the old way with out the ballistic or gravity changes, or whatever else got done to them, all I know is there poor now :(

Stop nerfing stuff. if anything, make the nex beam wider.

Balance out the nex damage nerf, and make it wider. :)

That or restore Nex damage, please

Ballistics are awsome. (I use full ballistics, with both drop and the bullets taking time to traverse a space, it would probably be better if both were enabled as players would beable to understand the bullet drop. (For long distance shots you can use the tracers to walk the gun into your enemies))
The shotgun has always had a random hit pattern. I never use it default, I always set it to shoot out 17 or 20 particles rather than 5 (5 isn't really shotgunny).

Why not learn to use the weapons rather than complaining?

Is it the weapons that are poor... or the player who can't use them?

Anyway you can set your server to however you'd like it (I certainly do that with mine.)

I'm trying to make the point I want to be able to use these weapons.

unless you have a very low ping (and since I play mostly german opponents on german servers like the majority of good EU one's are) then the difference in being able to deal damage is very high, I have always had a higher ping then most of my opponents but I have always been able to do well because I have a very good aim so could always do damage.

With both of those weapons now they are how they are (shotgun and machine gun), they are virtually useless, what happens If I can't get other weapons for example I want to be able to fall back on these and the crylink atleast, but the MG especially is useless now. Ballistics/Gravity completely ruined there useability unless you have a very very low ping.

You say other weapons I already use them. In the older versions I don't have a problem with the shotgun I was great with it now I aim and it doesn't have the same effect I have to lead quite heavily and even then it is bad, machinegun not as good but atleast it wasn't useless
for me.

By the way I ping around 50-60 in cmd to the server's, about 80-95 on the scoreboard.

The fact is the weapons were very usable before ballistics/gravity changes got put in place, now I only use them If I have no other possible weapon (means I can't use them against people mortar'ing me, oh but ofcourse i'm meant to use other weapons and not the RL)

oh yeah I forgot that ofcourse when someone uses mortar and I use RL I am suppose to use other weapons, well the fact is two of them are pathetically crap now. Like I say nexuiz is very much nex + mortar based at the moment.

Whatever it is, shooting on the model itself with either the sg or mg doesn't seem to work on ping higher than 10 - 20 now the problem centers around the unintuitive behavior of the bullets and probably the antilag too which seems busted. I would like to see ballistics for bullets more of an option disabled by default, it adds unneeded complexity and problems to Nexuiz.

Nexuiz is becoming progressively slower in pace, reduced overall weapon damage is but a phase.

Nexuiz' gameplay is also coincidentally evolving to nullify cheats...

Ballistics as per nexuiz default will only be noticible across absolutly huge maps (spire control etc).
The default right now is that the particles hit right away (hit scan). It is not ballistics that is causing misses. (Unless you're playing my maps all the times).
