nerve ranking update bar

Postby joblack » Wed Jun 24, 2009 1:14 am

I tried your game under Debian Linux - nice game but this update bar is quite nerve ranking. I can't update to the never version until Debian does.

So how to disable this thing and why don't you just disable this bar by default ... its open source not cripple ware ... :( ...

Why can't you update it? It's simple archive to download and extract. You don't need to wait until some debian developer packages it in deb. Also, if there is a patch, then maybe it is necessary to apply it.

I'm not sure if this helps but try showbrand 0.

It's because old versions are not very compatible to current servers, and most servers update very fast. It's to warn you that you probably won't have much fun on online servers with such an old version.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

It's not recommended because you break the update system and have to update for yourself.

Ok the brand option worked - nice game and the server works so far ...

Just extract full archive into your home folder and play from here. When the patch comes, you'll update and see no problems.
