You did produce them, since they are not in the original pk3. They are not created by Paint Shop Pro but by Windows Explorer.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Actually delete it from full too, and we lose all those confusing not in 2D rendering stadge error msgs (iirc again)

They are caused by that?

We cannot simply delete that file, GtkRadiant needs it... it's hard enough to set up that beast as is. And I wonder how common-spog can cause that, since all it contains are textures. No shader scripts or stuff like that.

Radinat installs it itself, where you say quake3 is.

If you are refering to the nagging abt unknown surface params, thats cus common.shader in quake3 style is in the main pk3 (scipts/common.shder)

well I certainly can't delete them if windows forces them to be hidden. (folder options / uncheck hidden files does not solve this)

You can use a 3rd party file manager to do it.

It's stuff like this which makes a script a better way to build it. Get it right the first time and it's never a problem again.

What JPEG quality factor have you been using? 60% seems to work quite well.

60Mb is still beyond reasonable use of a dial up connection. I'm trying to make it smaller by removing other things and doing some more aggressive optimisations. I'm on 57Mb at the moment but under 50Mb is definitely possible.

folder options - "hide protected operative systsem files" should do it (translated from swedish, but is should be something similar)

Reducing to one playermodel would be awesome... That would involve some coding though and I doubt that it would be compatible with the servers then. :(
