Error pops up when I scroll

Postby SF101 » Mon Jun 29, 2009 3:21 am

Hello, I am a noob to the game (Just got it two days ago) and quite overwhelmed with the features, console, and how good everyone else is but me. :D Yesterday when I scrolled to switch weapons, I got this message: >> kEventClassKeyboard (UNKNOWN event(forgot if there is a space between event and kind)kind: 11) <<

Any idea's?

Also, do you have a list with all of the command line inputs?

Thank you. 8)

Does weapon switching work anyway?
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Yes, but it is annoying to have to press the numbers, and very slow.

Also, while I'm at it, is there a way to make a game with just the map, no players, to get used to the movements and gun characteristics?

Yes, create a game with no bots.

As for weapon switching: it is unlikely that this gets fixed anytime soon due to us STILL not having any Mac developer.

For the time being, try Nexuiz-SDL.app
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Another option you should consider is making proper weapon binds around your movement keys. When you get used to them, you might become a better player since you don't need to waste time finding the right weapon for the job with the scrollwheel.

For example I use:
- q for machinegun
- e for rocketlaucher
- r for nex
- f for electro
- g for hagar
- c for mortar
- v for crylink
and 1 for laser, 2 for shotgun.

Ok, thank you everyone for the help. What is the SDL version for?

Well, if Nexuiz SDL works better for you than OpenGl Nexuiz, then use it. If not, then you should just stick with opengl.

I'd use Nexuiz SDL, but it crashes after map changes. >:[
My will be done.
