hi there,

i personally agree that server admin should be able to use any settings they whish. this is not a matter of discussion for me.

what i worry about is which of those new settings/options will make it into offical games ?
offical games like ctf ladder games or an eventual 2009 1v1 tourney.

am i correct in assuming that all these new settings who came with 2.5 will not be included in a 1v1 tourney server config ?

heres what i mean by new settings that will or not be the default for official 1v1 games:

- pogo stick bunny hoping
- rocket guiding
- jetpacks
- new guns of 2.5

my personal opinion about them is that they should not be in official 1v1 settings.
I would like to know what you others 1v1ers and ctfers think of them, and if they should be in the offical rules ??

and while im here, can someone tell me how to have shootfromeye without the gun being in the center if that is possible, this is something i reallllllllly miss ?

Official games should play the game that is actually released. Thus, the new defaults should be active in official matches.

Otherwise, it can easily happen that someone is good at the default settings, but not some weird "ladder" settings that are ONLY used for competitive matches.

So basically, ladder servers should really keep pogostick and rocket guiding active. The new guns are only active if the mapper put them, so that's no issue. Jetpack is not default and will never be.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
