It should be noted that only the United States civilains use fucked up units too. The military uses metric, and the pigs probably use metric too.
Please, switch to metric, and use it wherever possible.

Flying Steel wrote:First off, doesn't anyone realize how moronic this topic is to begin with? It only says "lbs" in the player model previews for fun or aesthetics, those weights carry no weight in-game.
So you might ask, what's wrong with making the aesthetics more reasonable here? Then perhaps you should recall that you are asking this about a game spelled "Nexuiz" but prounouced correctly only half way through its spelling, that is set in somekind of futuristic space opera with space stations made of wood and half the other environments made of brick.
A more intelligent version of this topic would have been either:
"Why don't we overhaul the name, setting and measurement system of the game to be alot more sensical and consistent?"
or
"Why doesn't the game use the metric system instead of 'quake units'?"AnArKiSt wrote:It really sucks that some people around the US are too fucktarded to learn metric and use it like everybody else.

Pop quiz European Union civilians, what's a third of a meter?
What's that you said? It is 3.33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 decimeters?
I'm sorry but you are WRONG!. The correct answer has a few more decimal places in it.

Have you ever stopped to think about what the official definition of a foot is nowadays? 0.3048 metres exactly. That's because it's an irrelevant pointless old unit and we had to define it from the metric system to make it mildly useful.
Do you even know how old it is? It was only in the 1830's when it was defined as a poor alternative to a sensible unit of measure not based upon strange human anatomy.
It's because of the US (less than 5% of the world population by head, perhaps 15% by mass) and it's strange obsession with 'English'
(please don't call them that, it's the imperial system, a specific set of pagean units)
units that we have such engineering challenges everywhere. Just use metric and everything would be simpler for everyone... that and ISO paper formats.
Seriously, make it kilograms or electronvolts.
