And when an elephant is too small, we'll make it Blue Whales.

Megatons in yield if annihilated by equivalent anti-particles?

First off, doesn't anyone realize how moronic this topic is to begin with? It only says "lbs" in the player model previews for fun or aesthetics, those weights carry no weight in-game.

So you might ask, what's wrong with making the aesthetics more reasonable here? Then perhaps you should recall that you are asking this about a game spelled "Nexuiz" but prounouced correctly only half way through its spelling, that is set in somekind of futuristic space opera with space stations made of wood and half the other environments made of brick.

A more intelligent version of this topic would have been either:

"Why don't we overhaul the name, setting and measurement system of the game to be alot more sensical and consistent?"

or

"Why doesn't the game use the metric system instead of 'quake units'?"

It should be noted that only the United States civilains use fucked up units too. The military uses metric, and the pigs probably use metric too.
Please, switch to metric, and use it wherever possible.

By the same token, it really sucks that some people around the EU are too fucktarded to learn a 12 numeral per digit system, instead of the fucktarded metric system with its obsession with 10, which unlike 12, cannot be naturally divided into basic thirds or fourths.

Pop quiz European Union civilians, what's a third of a meter?

What's that you said? It is 3.33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 decimeters?

I'm sorry but you are WRONG!. The correct answer has a few more decimal places in it.

Electronvolts are the natural units of mass and are always use in subatomic physics.

EU? You mean the whole of the world other than the US surely? Have you ever stopped to think about what the official definition of a foot is nowadays? 0.3048 metres exactly. That's because it's an irrelevant pointless old unit and we had to define it from the metric system to make it mildly useful. Do you even know how old it is? It was only in the 1830's when it was defined as a poor alternative to a sensible unit of measure not based upon strange human anatomy.

It's because of the US (less than 5% of the world population by head, perhaps 15% by mass) and it's strange obsession with 'English' (please don't call them that, it's the imperial system, a specific set of pagean units) units that we have such engineering challenges everywhere. Just use metric and everything would be simpler for everyone... that and ISO paper formats.

Seriously, make it kilograms or electronvolts.

I agree. 12 is a much more humane system.

And to those that have a problem with the US: maybe the USA will just invade you, or nuke you, the USA has done both before. Just saying... That's how the USA rolls.

That might not be true. There's alot of places in the world, including those that still use symbols to represent words, instead of an alphabet.

Have you ever stopped to think about what the official definition of a foot is nowadays? 0.3048 metres exactly. That's because it's an irrelevant pointless old unit and we had to define it from the metric system to make it mildly useful.

So then how have you redefined the quake unit based on the metric system?

Do you even know how old it is? It was only in the 1830's when it was defined as a poor alternative to a sensible unit of measure not based upon strange human anatomy.

Quake units are from the late 1990's, so they must be alot better than both feet and meters, following your logic.

It's because of the US (less than 5% of the world population by head, perhaps 15% by mass) and it's strange obsession with 'English'

It's because of the US' small relative population and obesity widespreadness that the US uses the English system?

(please don't call them that, it's the imperial system, a specific set of pagean units)

On behalf of my people, I want to apologise for us naming a system of measurement after your people, so as to give said people credit for a system of their own invention that they have since grown to hate.

units that we have such engineering challenges everywhere. Just use metric and everything would be simpler for everyone... that and ISO paper formats.

We can't, because quake units are built into the game engine. If you'd like to convert it over to meters, you'll have my thanks though.

Seriously, make it kilograms or electronvolts.

You want to make it kilograms for. . . what's that game called now. . . is it Nexuiz or Nexius?

Bullies will be bullies until somebody or something makes them stop.

Tyrannical govenrments are no exception; but it's too bad most people lack the balls to free themselves.

Is tactics involving censorship and blackmail that keep people opressed more than anything.

I'm really not surprised that people get jailed for talking. It is however, a major shame that I can't do much aside from expressing my detest over the internet.
My will be done.
