I still see the problem as too many stupid ass space maps that dont allow for proper matches. Just lasering your opponents off the edge of the map and rocket jumping to flag cap. Bleh.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

Minsta + CTF = No no no no NOOO! Minsta doesn't belong in CTF

Hook + CTF = depends on map, it's a ton of fun to swing around like Spider Man on city maps, swing around all over the place on space maps never gets old, and corridors are crazy with hooks. Everything else though, hook doesn't belong with CTF.

Jet Pack + CTF = Maybe in Tribes, but sure the hell not Nexuiz

Maybe you just don't understand hook as well as you think :-P

CTF +Hook is a different gametype within itself and is not meant to be played like ~REAL~ CTF.

Adding to your list:
Nothing + CTF = Yes!

Not sure why you're quoting me there

Maybe real CTF is dying because it's boring :P minsta, hook & jetpack adds something new and "fun" to the game.
Plus, the oldschool players are not playing that much nowadays.

It's not dying, it's not borin, and not only oldschool players play regular CTF.
The CTF offer has evened out, that's all.

I'm fairly new and it fustrates me with the same map chocies over and over again it was only last night I felt I played the same map 5 or so times in a couple of hours... and the assholes that keep nexing you so people like me a little slower and not such an accurate shooter has NO chance.

How would a newbie be inticed into playing ctf if he can never get further than his own base because of the nex?

That's a BIG issue there...

The map thing should be prevented by the admins by setting a larger map repetition preventing cvar, and making a decent maplist (mentalspace + mentalrespaced + mentalfog on the same maplist is WRONG, pick one and leave the others out... or even better, pick none of them)

The nex problem is a major one. Apparently, players think it's fun to camp. And most people don't know how to counter-attack.
Also, mappers should make an effort in weapon placing. There are way too much nexes.

IMHO the nex should use more ammo than it does now. At least 10 or even 15 could be a solution.

If players can't change their mentality, and stop camping and shooting the enemies in their own bases, we somehow have to force them to not use the nex as much as they do.

excactly plus Im its hard to completely ban the nex but it need some sort of limiting on DCC
I tend to play 7+ maps a time
where if I go onto dcc and start being nexed as soon as I apear from my base then I have no fun I carnt play any longer.

On DCC laid back it says in the status try not to run up either score too highbut constantly in 15 mins (the map time) we've played 4 or 5 maps because one teams ramped up ten (max points on dcc) while the othere teams on 0 this fustrates me Its no fun where as if were on a smaller map its down to close battles and interest tactics those games end on 5-4 or similair not much difference and its as close as it can be and into overtime sometimes these games are FUN!
