Game crashes sometimes when I start a map. As soon as I spawn the first time it just crashes and quits. No weird console output for you though. Sorry. Happens online and in single-player. Didn't happen in 2.5.1

No, the file got lost and I simply don't have the time to redo it from scratch.

Anyone still have the ORIGINAL zip file (do NOT pack your installation into a new one, I really need the original one)?
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I REALLY hope Ubuntu will remove that crap. The sooner the better. Why would anyone need a sound server? It does not make sense.
No man, _no_. Its just badly implemented, they fixed it A LOT since heron/intrepid.

My experience is that pulseaudio gets worse and worse for every Ubuntu release.
At this rate I predict 9.10 will not even have sound :P
I'm sorry for being negative, but I think only 0.5% need a sound server.

Sound code only changed slightly for SDL. So dunno what your problem is.

Did some nitpicking and found a small bug with the gibs. Basically what happened was whenever I fragged somebody, some of the gibs would get stuck in the air after they're done scattering.

Shockingly Pulse Audio now works properly on my system, I deleted an .asoundrc file that I had and allowed the thing to start up without being killed and everything works properly now.
I have left this website with the rest of the GPL Nexuiz community. You can find us at Xonotic.org

For those of you having sound issues on OSX, please provide me some debug information. When these problems happen again open the console (Shift+ESC) and do the following command:

Code: Select all
condump sound-problem.log

This dumps your console to a file, which ends up in a hidden directory. Since Finder is a bitch when it comes to hidden directories, open the Terminal (in Applications -> Utilities) and do the following command:

Code: Select all
mv ~/.nexuiz/data/sound-problem.log ~/Desktop/

The file is now on your Desktop, open it and paste the contents on a website like http://www.pastebin.com/ and then post a reply here :-).

From the sounds described it looks like libogg isn't working properly, this library has been upgraded and does load/work for me. It's still possible to revert to the old library, but I'd rather attempt to fix the issue on the newer lib, condump output should at least help in that regard.
Before posting a reply, please read about the bikeshed
