just downloaded the 2.5.2 beta patch yesterday. At first when i tried it my view was tilting on the side when i was hit or moving fast. I played a bit with some variable like v_kick* and it seemed to have got back to normal. Not too sure which var fixed it. Im using SDL if thats of any use. Well what i wanted to say is that the new Aggressor looks very good and is much more enjoyable :D i love it

I was told that Lord Havoc is of the opinion that, since Nexuiz is a fast paced game where aim is very important, a weapon that does most of its damage with automatically aimed rockets is not desired. And although a lot can be said for that, I still regret seeing the weapon go. It was unique and fun.

But the TAGS is the weapon where aim makes the most difference. Aim factors in two-fold:

1) The tag round is a slow projectile with no splash, thus aim is difficult.

2) One of your best defenses against the missiles is to shoot them down as they seek you.

#2 could be enhanced further by making the missiles' hitboxes bigger, so that more of the weapons could do a more reliable job of shooting them down. And give them each only 1 hit point of armor if they didn't already.

Then it is all about aim- can the wielder hit the target with tags faster and more consistently than he can shoot down the salvos? That determines who wins.

agreed, and now to think of it, hlac is even more useless, why not remove hlac instead?

It was LordHavoc's decision, as Lead Programmer and Co-Designer. The only one above LordHavoc is Lee Vermeulen, Project Founder and Co-Designer. His decision is authorative.

You have to argue with LordHavoc to undo it. Complaining on the forum here won't do any good.

Also, HLAC is not useless. Learn how to use it :P but yes, LH also didn't like that one, but at least it does not annoy him so much that he wants it removed.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

So, what about people who don't update? They can still use it be we can't? Or is it a matter of which servers update?

ou can still use it if you recompile the updated progs.dat with the old ts code, but then they wouldnt be able to, this was the issue with q1 when people would make their mods, like ultra shotty and such, others cant use them, but you can.

Is 2.5.4 the first stable version since 2.5.1?
The development version in SVN is 2.5.3.

Yes the map was completely removed, and not only hidden from the menu. :)
