This could happen if enought people show interest by saying in this thread that they would play in it. I think that atm there are 6-7 peoples who have done so. As for map pool i agree that it should be something like the default nexuiz duel maps + maybe 1-2-3 additionnal maps just for a little diversity. Honestly i hope that the coming of 2.5.2 will draw more attention over nexuiz and will stimulate people.

For the ruleset. from the different opinions i got, its pretty sure that guided rockets will be turned off as most dislike them in duel. Opinions about auto bunnyhopping (pogo )are still evaluated but it could go the same way.

Guided rockets i'm fine with being disabled (Although I like them, they add gameplay.. They aren't easy to use if you set them to a low rate like 50 or 60.).... pogostick must stay on though, as sv_pogostick 0 has client side movement prediction problems. The reason we added pogostick was to get around this bug, and unfortunatelly as i've found out.. it's NOT an easy bug to fix... And pogostick DOESN'T make it easier in any way really, you still need timing as to land jumps perfectly in many places, else you could end up losing speed.

As for maps, I would really love to see some CPM maps in there. The only problem is that the majority of them need their teleporters fixed..... As most shoot you out at the wrong angle as of 2.5.
Do it yourself, or stop complaining.

well like i said a couple of post earlier, rules/maps/settings will be decided when we are sure that enought people want to participate and will be based on the preferences of the majority of these participant. Nothing of those must or must not be. What we need to do now is get people to know that this thread is here and that we need them to manifest their interest because in my opinion a tourney with less than ±20 participants will not be very exciting. So if you already given your name in that thread and/or you know people who like to duel please do tell them about the existence of it for them to add their name.

up to now we have:

1-pclizard
2-liolak
3-samual
4-canadianlinux
5-kojak
6-ohsnapple
7-FraNcoTirAdoR

I would watch this :D.

AussieNexers tournaments are run here, the current tournament (a medley format) is here. The duel tourney that liolak mentioned was run here but it suffered a lot from inactivity/people not organising games, etc.

I don't really know how active North America is, but from my experience a definitive ruleset at the start, as well as a clear expectation for weekly play (backed up by forfeits) has worked wonders in our Tournaments.

My lousy internet has always kept me out of competitions (in any game), but if you guys are just desperate for a body count, then I might be interested, depending on what day/time the match takes place and if it is considered bad to forfeit after the first match (in case I get swamped in RL).

we are not desperate for a body count :)

we are rather looking for highly motivated players. Im personally not in a rush to play in a tournament. I know a lot of players said they "might" be up to play in it but this is not enough imho to motivate someone into administering anything. I estimate that if someone is not motivated enought to take 1 min to write in here that he is up to play in the tournament, its better not to count on that person to play the games in the allowed times.

Lets just consider this thread as a test to see how many trully motivated (for tourney) duelers are around.

On the other hand, if the only thing keeping you from playing in the tourney is your connection quality, do say that you are up for playing in the tourney. Im willing to start some torrents while playing the game so that my connection sucks equally xD and everything is even. Also this is just for fun & playing new people :) Though i might make a cake and fedex it to the winner if the tournament is a succes :D :D :D
