Now 2.5 contains a perversive cocktail of disrespect, from minor aspects such as the phrasing used to log frags, to automated taunts intended to incite animosity.

Though I'm not old-school (started out with 2.3) I agree that something needs to be done about the taunts. This game has a much different atmosphere than say Unreal Tournament 99, Assault on Dark Athena, Kingpin, or anything else that's darker. Nexuiz seems to be built more around straight old-school action with a more "fun" element than those other games. The disrespectful taunts seem a bit out of place in this game.

Yup. I played Nexuiz 1.0. Morf forced it upon me to play, it's only when he said they needed modelers that I seriously started to get involved with this community. If they wouldn't have that need I wouldn't have been around much.
Though I was just an modeler apprentice at that time so it's only much later that I started to do stuff.

PS. My fav Nexuiz version was by far 1.5!! Long live 1.5!!

PB was an expansion on the peace concept, that Yellow Robot and I, with an additional player by the name of 'PixelPlast' first invented during a game of 3 player Minstagib DM.

Before [PB} was ever formed, the two of us and 4m used to join crowded Minstagib servers to run & hide, or testing whatever CVar mods I created on my listen server.

That we still do, of course. But this can no longer be done on public servers any more, due to the decline in community ethos.

Even on servers owned by a PB member, people would join and disrupt the peace by killing the PBs. The "no fragging" sign before the peace arena is really needed today.
