So I am wondering who could make a very nice screen recording for me to edit! For Linux users I recommend to use "gtk-RecordMyDesktop"

Of course I can do it myself, but I don't have a 16:9 widescreen monitor. I want the recordings in 16:9 aspect ratio and 1280x720 or higher!

What do you mean by screen recording? Exactly what materials do you need? Gameplay videos, spectacular moments, presentations? I have currently lot of 720p HD 30fps skill-frags in tremendous quality and .mov format (search for "nexuiz rage" on youtube if you want to check out the quality). Come to #nexuiz channel on irc.quakenet.org, and look for me if you are intersted about them, I can also help in video editing/effecting: im pretty familiar with Adobe After Effects.

Ohh yeah if its Ubuntu: I really hope you wont use the stock-nexuiz it comes with, because the repository only contains the 1,5 years old earlier version, and since then there were huge improvements. The current version 2.5.2 can be downloaded from sourceforge, however it has a little bug with water reflections, so you might want to use 2.5.1 version for game-presentation in my recommendation.

you don't need some screen recording apps, nexuiz is able to render movies itself, and if you record from demo, it will render movie always at desired framerate no matter how week your computer is, type cl_capturevideo and press TAB on console to see all commands for video recording.

What I need is gamplay or spectacular moments for the Lan-party promo video!

The newest Ubuntu has a newer version of Nexuiz!

I just did cl_capture video 1
Ok what or where is the directoy in linux where the recordings are stored?

----oh never mind
already found it!

Whats the deadline? How long do you want the video to be? Until then I can capture other frags too, and then upload a bunch, and share the download link with you in PM.

The best way to create the promotional material is to collect demos while you play, or search the forums here if you want 'pro' demos.

You can set your resolution manually using vid_height and vid_width and thus force a 16:9 resolution for your demo captures. It's generally a good idea to only enable cl_capturevideo when recording a demo, this way you can set your effect levels higher than would be playable in game.

Could you also share a link to the event info? Some of us (including me) may like to attend the gaming party or help out in other ways.

I'm working on a mini frag video of a ctf match I played on HOCTF, located here. The audio is a bit off and I'm adding some more effects to it, which should be done within the next few hours. I'll upload a high quality version of it if needed.
