Permission to use Textures?

Postby Darcshadow7 » Thu May 06, 2010 6:42 pm

Hey all, The ODF desperately needs textures, and Im not sure if we need permission to use them or not, so Ive come to ask. :)

Our project is GPL and we are wondering if we can use the Nexuiz textures for some of our maps. Thanks!

As long as your map is GPL as well, this is no problem. In fact, it's kinda the whole idea of the GPL license ;)

Which is always a good idea...

IIRC everything that is official part of Nexuiz (i.e. contained in nexuiz252.zip) must be GPL, so you can rely on that.

For unofficial maps (e.g. those downloaded from a server while playing) other licenses could apply. In that case you might want to check for licensing information in the pk3 file or contact the author.
