New mod - Enstagib

One day I had a prety simple idea, and thanks to the flexibility of Nexuiz, I could "mod" my own mutator too :) Very simple, I did not have to code anything, but the result is pretty fun I tell ya ;)

What is Enstagib?

Enstagib is "electro-instagib". You only own two weapons: the laser (fro trickjumping), and the Electro. The laser is untouched, but the electro is modified a bit ;)

Overall:
You can't pickup any health, items, or weapons, all are disabled. But you won'T need any of them either, couse you have the electro @ spawn, with infinite ammo. Selfdamage is removed too, and you have a 3 seconds spawn protection.

Primary fire:
The primary fire's damage is very big, it instantly gibs. The speed of the projectile is a bit faster too, and the splash damage area is larger too. Not much, but you can notice it :)

Secondary fire:
The secondary fire delivers no damage at all, but it became very fast and strong. Now you use the secondary fire to kick your opponents, to bounce them throughout the map. Refire time is a bit longer (not much, but not plain nexuiz 2.0), but the speed of the projectile is realy fast.

Combo: The combo serves the same as the secondary ire, but the kickback force depends how much plasma balls you can detonate at once.

Installation:
Dl the zip file, and then extract it into your Nexuiz folder. To start the game with enstagib, start nexuiz with

What about an easy minstagib mod?

I tried it out, well, a bit too easy but nice. Maybe more fun if not played against robots.

Cool is how easy this mod can be started :)

Well, I know this is not really the right place here to ask for but I'm too stupid to create a minstagib game for playing inside the LAN in here with some colleagues. This however would be very suitable while our internet connection is sucking again.

So I want to ask for somebody to create a zip file to be installed just like C.Brutail's enstagib one, for configuration noobs like I am, would be so nice :D

the first way is to create a server after having selected minstagib in the global game options in the MENU urmel :)

otherwise, create a normal server, then a simple :

set g_minstagib 1

will work, but you'll have to change map to make the items disappear...

OMGZ!!! Almost rip-off of my eGib! Do something like this:

electro primary damage: 20
electro primary refire: 0
level gravity: 500
jump height: 400
player max speed: 500
max air speed: 1000

needless to say its only fun on big maps. dont try this on basement with 20 bots and fog...
but i figured people could just tune it easily, so no need for a mod.

i've set up a batserver with enstagib :)

but i've set g_balance_selfdamagepercent to 0.000001
cause i can't use laserjump.

Played and enjoyed it. Known issues so far:
- invulnerability too long,
- too "easy", should be either more like Rocket Arena or Minstagib
(slower projectile and lesser damage OR faster, more precise projectile and Minsta ammo)
- secondary useless, either a "mass destruction blob" or replace with laser

dunno about 2.0 but you could make it available from the mod menu. then you can add several mod modes. id have to check that.

Thx to the relies, and thanx for pointing out the laser-jump thing :)

I don't want ammo for this, only pure insta-rocket like playing.

I thiink the secondary is useless becouse the bots don't jump. I found that the push thing only realy works is the player is not standing on the ground.

Tried it once, all i can say sofar in the spawninvunra is very enoying. otehr then that its fun. maybe include g_throughfloor 0. the humongus dammage couses a rather large amount of random kills through waals/floors on some maps.

iirc damage throughfloor is off :shock: Gotta dig the "code" ;)
it's 0, so I dunno how you achieved them :?:
