Laser jump keybinding

could someone please write a proper keybinding for laser jump,
i tried to write one but it will only seem to work 3 out 10 times,
it's very unreliable...

Why would you need a keybindning for laserjumping? :shock:
HOF:
<Diablo> the nex is a "game modification"
<Diablo> quake1 never had a weapon like that.
<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along

because i find it hard to look down quickly with my infrared mouse,
anyway does it really matter why i want it...?

No, i guess not. I never heard of a laserjump binding tho. Can you post you current "almost" working one? perhaps someone can spot the reson why stops working.

it was condensed to a one line alias not using the +/- aliases but it seems to work
a little better this way, i've also played with the cl_pitchspeed settings and also the
waits and not made any progress at all so now im wondering whether it's just me...
(by the way, main idea taken from quake's rocket jump keybinding)

Seems a shame to limit yourself to binds for laserjumping.

Just saying, is all.

Well first of all this +attack2 seems wrong.. should be +attack. The laser secondary attack will switch to the last used gun. Or is this actually for minstagib?
Also in newer versions of Nexuiz looking straight down is not the best angle for laserjumping. Especialy when running! I mostly use 45-60 degrees down that seems to give the best results when running. There is a way to set the viewangle but i do not remember it right now. It was mentioned a few times on irc.
And of cource it all depends on you ping.

I would advice you to find a better sensetivity. So that you can 'move' fast and still aim nicely. I use 10cm for a 360° turn and its quite good for tricking and aiming..

I'm sorry but i do not like such kind of scripts. They feel kinda unfair to me because they take the challange away.. Yeah i also use aliases in several games but only for things like adding zoom, making scoreboards nicer in quake2 for example. It has no zoom and the scoreboard will toggle and i do not like that.
Ok i build a advanced 'axe/weapon switch when firing' script for quake. And a alias for jedi knight that will either bind all weapons or all forces because it would take too much buttons to have both at once. But i never really played those two online :).

Try to find some rj scripts for quake1, but try to make them to use the laser impulse, shuold work.

My opinion about scripted moves and weapon bindings is that I think that's not a bad thing. IF you do it yourself. Becouse then you know how your script works, and overall how the game works. This is learning, and earning knowledge. And then using your knowledge become a better player. This is practicing in my point of view too. You spend precious time to make your script work perfectly. Tho you need time to learn aim and move etc. etc. etc.
For fun play this is a good thing.

For ladder matches it's not 100% clear. I think on ladder matches the ladder admin shoud decide that he allows scripts or not.

laser secondary changes to previously used weapon, so chaning to +attack would make it better :D

however:

You dont _want_ to use a lserjump keybinfding, because your flightpath can be heavliy modified deopending on where you aim your shot in combination with when/how you jump.
