My first Nexuiz Movie

I consider it an art to be able to release superior movie quality movies with a small filesize....

E.g. you can put a 2h movie with fast motion (e.g. "Blade 1", the movie) into a 700mb file with sharp (!) quality and no artifacts.

I know these movies. They all have a resolution of 680x360 or so. You can't deliver HDTV resolution at such bitrates. Or why do you think they need Blue-Ray discs for HDTV-DVDs?

euh and what's the point of delivering HD video for a game movie ???
a dvd quality like 720x576 pixels is far enough and will allow more people to read the video without the last high end computer.

Apart from that, using HD for a game movie is a good idea, but it HAS to be combinated with other video treatments, and used only as a final step in a global very high quality process. I mean the final format choice has to be coherant with the global content / editing quality of the movie.
For example, motion-blur is the thing that is missing the more in game videos, and whatever is the resolution of your video, if there's no motion blur the final result will be too near from a game and too far from a movie, too much 'clean'.

my 2 cents : a good video is still good in DVD resolution, and mostly important, even in HD, a bad movie is a bad movie

I think I will select best part of my movie and recapture it with the best quality that I can and I will use other video soft to make a high quality video.

I have a ati X800XL and an Athlon 64 3000+@2.6Ghz ... I think record demo with ultimate.cfg and AA don't make problems.

It will be well if you could say to me which are the frags that you prefer with time so that I put them in my new video
ex : 6.45/6.55

Do you think that I have to change fov ?, It is the fov that I play with : 130.

Cool stuff. Who performed that music? Don't you have any license issues with it?

If you concentrate on cool moves/shots so much, you could try more fast/slomos, more excessive speed changes.

yes, capture it with fov 90-100, not more

You can think about hiding the status bar completely as well, or using r_letterbox xx (which will increase fov but let the scene look more movie-like )

I've watched your film.

First of all, I'd like to congratulate on the video, as probably I won't be able do make a video like this, so for a first effort, it's very good. Please keep this in mind while I review it.

Now for some harsh criticism

Music:
Very monoton, maybe you should use more songs (or were there? :F ). I don't like this genre too, but that's only a subject opinion, you can ignore this

Frags: As mentioned several times, too many nex kill. And for my opinion, maybe you should have wait a few more weeks with this film, to collect some realy exceptional frags. While I was watching it, there were several times, when I thought in myself:
"Yeah, yeah, nice frag, but what's so special in it?" (eg. mowing down n00bs in public isn't such the thing to show imho).,
But there were very god frags too, like the one, when you shot morfar with the nex, and then he blow himself up on the wall. That was very good More frags like that, and I'll have no complains

Quality:
For firtst efford, I think this is good. But only for the first The next time you release your video, I want to see much much better As for the fov, it wasn't annoying for me, as I play with 110.

Ending:
Please try to stick to english, as most of us speak/read english. I could understand, that you've thank all the "authors" in your film, but nothing more.

Conclusion:
I enjoyed watching the film, as I realy welcomed your efforts. But you've stepped on a road, on wich now you can't turn back. We want more and more films, and with lways better quality

First of all ty cuizi for teh work, i assume you spent a lotta time on this

Nice frags for sure, but my main criticism is that this movie is more like a "Look at my skill" movie than a "Look at those beautiful [lucky, artistic, predictive or incredible] frags" movie.
It's hard for me to explain it in english...

But globally i was expecting a bit more frags quality from a guy who owns me at this point
I'm sure you have a lotta more impressive frags to show, with more various weapons ... so i wait for the second movie

Pure detail : the time and fps should be removed and viewsize set to 120.

Don't hesitate if you need some help about video capture and motion-blur adding, i'll be happy to advise you (in french ) about the way to get high capture quality.
